Empyrean Energy PLC 08 November 2006 Empyrean Energy PLC ('Empyrean' or the 'Company'; Ticker: (EME)) Sugarloaf Hosston Prospect, Texas USA ------------------------------------- AIM quoted Empyrean Energy PLC today announces that at 6am Texas time on 7th November 2006 the Sugarloaf-1 exploration well, located in the onshore Gulf Coast Basin in Texas, USA, was drilling ahead in 6-1/2 inch hole at a depth of 18,245 feet (5,563 metres). Since the last report on 1st November 2006, the operator has drilled 295 feet (90 metres). The main Hosston reservoir targets have yet to be reached. During the week, two further changes to the bottom hole assembly were made and reaming operations were conducted, which has affected the overall drilling progress. The proposed total depth of 21,000 feet (6,400 metres) is expected to be reached during November assuming trouble-free drilling.
