Empyrean Energy PLC 06 September 2006 Empyrean Energy PLC ('Empyrean' or the 'Company'; Ticker: (EME)) Sugarloaf Hosston Prospect, Texas USA ------------------------------------- AIM quoted Empyrean Energy PLC today announces that at 6am Texas time on 5th September, 2006 the Sugarloaf-1 exploration well, located in the onshore Gulf Coast Basin in Texas, USA, was drilling ahead in 12-1/4' hole at 7,357 feet (2,243 metres). Since the last report, 13-3/8' casing has been set to 6500 feet (1,982 metres). The Sugarloaf well has a number of geologically independent targets, the first of which is at 12,000 - 14,000 feet (3,600 - 4,300 metres) and is expected to be reached by mid September. The primary Hosston target is expected to be reached in early to mid October and the total depth of 21,000 feet (6,400 metres) in early November.
