Empyrean Energy PLC (the 'Company') has today granted to Dr Patrick Cross,
Chairman, and Mr Frank Brophy, Technical Director, incentive options over
ordinary shares in the Company.

Dr Patrick Cross has been allocated options over 250,000 shares at an exercise
price of 35 pence per share with an expiry date of 31 December 2008, and options
over 250,000 shares at an exercise price of 40 pence per share with an expiry
date of 31 December 2008.

Mr Frank Brophy has been allocated options over 1,000,000 shares at an exercise
price of 35 pence per share with an expiry date of 31 December 2008.
