                   BOARD APPOINTMENT


Eleco plc, the building systems group, is pleased to
announce the appointment of Paul Taylor, aged 35, as
Group Operations Director and as an executive member
of the Board.

Paul was previously head of the European operations of
the Nasdaq listed company, DeVlieg-Bullard Inc., where
he was divisional managing director for the company's
UK and German subsidiaries.  In his new role at Eleco
plc, he will have operational control of all UK-based
Group companies.

John Ketteley, Executive Chairman of Eleco plc,
commented:

'Since joining Eleco in January 2000, Paul Taylor has
made an excellent contribution to the progress of the
Group and has become a key member of the Eleco
management team.  I am very pleased with his
appointment.'
