On 29 June 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
500,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 520p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 256,809,644 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
