On 17 May 2000, The Edinburgh Investment Trust plc bought back a further
300,000 ordinary shares for cancellation at a price of 504p per share.
Following the buy back, there are 263,410,644 ordinary shares in issue. The
share buy-back will be financed out of the capital reserve.
