Results include the benefits of network adjustments introduced progressively over the summer months, which strengthened our business. Controlled and sustained growth continued in the month with six new routes announced and another six started, all of which fit our business model of linking key markets by flying to attractive and convenient airports. 'As indicated on 23 September, pre-tax profit for the year is expected to exceed £60 million, at least 16% higher than 2003, making easyJet one of the few European airlines to record an increase in profits this year.' Earned seats include seats that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because easyJet is a no-refund airline, and once a flight has departed a no-show customer is generally not entitled to change flights or seek a refund. Earned seats also include seats provided for promotional purposes and to staff for business travel. 2. Represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available for passengers. No weighting of the load factor is carried out to recognise the effect of varying flight (or 'stage') lengths. 3. Represents statutory revenue. This is provisional and unaudited at the time of publication and may be subject to change. The audited figure will be published on 23 November 2004.
