easyJet passenger statistics for the month ending 30 April 2010 were impacted by the large number of cancellations as a result of the volcanic ash cloud, before this disruption easyJet had expected seats flown in April 2010 to be around 5 million and the passenger number to be around 4.3 million representing growth in passenger numbers of 14% and a load factor of 86.2%.

As referenced in the 19 April 2010 statement on the impact of volcanic ash around 200,000 of the 750,000 cancelled passengers were stranded, as a consequence of the disruption to our flying programme.  easyJet repatriated all of its customers within 5 days as easyJet operated special rescue flights to hot spot areas where many passengers were stranded.

easyJet plc will announce its results for the six months to 31 March 2010 on 11 May 2010.

1.Represents the number of earned seats flown. Earned seats include seats that are flown whether or not the passenger turns up because easyJet is a no-refund airline, and once a flight has departed a no-show customer is generally not entitled to change flights or seek a refund. Earned seats also include seats provided for promotional purposes and to staff for business travel.

2. Represents the number of passengers as a proportion of the number of seats available for passengers. No weighting of the load factor is carried out to recognise the effect of varying flight (or "stage") lengths.
