The Daily Mash and NextUp Announce Partnership

Digitalbox plc, the digital media business and owner of The Daily Mash, today announces a partnership with the UK's leading comedy video platform, NextUp. The agreement will mean The Daily Mash will distribute short-form video content from NextUp's growing comedy library to its social media following and through its website.

The UK's leading online satirical news site, The Daily Mash has over 3.5 million visits per month, and more than 900,000 Facebook followers. The partnership will create a considerable marketing opportunity for NextUp as it aims to grow its subscriber base for its long-form comedy content. For The Daily Mash, the agreement will enable its audience to see clips of some of the best stand-up comedians performing in the UK, as well as creating a new video advertising revenue stream.

The partnership brings together two of the UK's leading names in satire and humour. The Daily Mash has over a decade of consistent audience growth under its belt and the BAFTA-nominated Mash Report successfully airing on BBC2. Described as "The Netflix of UK Stand-Up", NextUp is a worldwide subscription video-on-demand platform specialising in stand-up specials, founded in 2016.

NextUp showcases the full spectrum of the live comedy circuit from sketch acts, character comedians and storytellers, to gag merchants, observationalists and surrealists. As well as familiar household names, there are also acclaimed rising stars and circuit legends for its subscribers to discover.  NextUp members have access to recording tickets and exclusive discounts while comedians are supported through a 50/50 revenue share model.

James Carter, CEO, Digitalbox said: "The variety, and very funny content that NextUp will provide can vastly increase the level of video consumption by The Daily Mash audience. As well as offering this audience more to enjoy, we can also create a new revenue stream in terms of video advertising. We are delighted to be in partnership with NextUp and to help them grow their business."

Daniel Berg, CEO, NextUp said: "We're really excited to be showcasing the comedians on our platform by harnessing the power of The Daily Mash and its incredible fan base. We've always admired The Daily Mash and what they've achieved and hope this partnership is just the beginning."

This is a non-regulatory announcement.
