Amendment

        Pursuant  to  the  Guinness  Save-As-You-Earn  Scheme,
application has been made to the London Stock Exchange  for  a
block listing of 3,594,129 Ordinary Shares of 28 101/108p each
to  be admitted to the Official List upon exercise of options.
The  Shares  shall  rank pari passu with the  existing  issued
shares of the Company.

       Copies  of  this  announcement are available  from  The
Company Announcements Office of the London Stock Exchange  for
the  period of 2 business days from the date hereof  and  from
The Registered Office of the Company for the period of 14 days
from the date hereof.
