The Company received notification on 11 July 2002, in accordance with the
provisions of sections 198-202 of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended by the
Companies Act 1989), that following a purchase of 100,000 ordinary 1p shares in
the Company ('Shares'), Universities Superannuation Scheme Limited has an
interest in 1,574,912 Shares, which represents 3.12 per cent. of the Company's
issued ordinary share capital.
