        Senior Management changes and Board appointment


The Board of Crest Nicholson is pleased to announce the
following appointments:

1.   Stephen Stone, a Main Board Director and Managing
     Director of Crest Homes (Eastern) Limited, will take up the
     position of Managing Director of Crest Homes PLC with effect
     from 1 November 2000.  He will be based in Weybridge.

2.   Paul Callcutt, currently Land Director of Crest Homes
     PLC, is appointed a Director of Crest Nicholson PLC with the
     title and responsibility of Group Land Director.

The Residential Division of the Group consequently will
comprise two companies, Crest Homes PLC and Nicholson Estates
Limited.  Both companies will have 'divisional status'
although for accounting purposes and in public announcements
they will still be reported under consolidated Residential
results.

In addition to his duties as a Divisional Managing Director,
Bruce Walker will continue to be responsible for representing
the company both on Group P.R. and selected land acquisition
initiatives.
