TRANSACTION IN OWN SHARES

Close Brothers Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 27 March 2014 it transferred 3,913 ordinary shares of 25 pence each from treasury to participants in its employee share plans.  The transfer price was 428 pence.  Following the transfer of these shares, the Company holds 1,756,208 of its ordinary shares in treasury and has 148,866,375 ordinary shares in issue (excluding treasury shares).
