BFS Small Companies Dividend Trust PLC

Following a sale of 560,000 Ordinary 25p shares, representing 3.56% of the
issued class of capital, on 18 May 2001, Securities Trust of Scotland plc no
longer has an interest in the issued class of capital of the Company.

Martin Currie Investment Management Limited now has a managed aggregate
holding of 600,000 Ordinary 25p shares in the Company, which represents 3.81%
of the issued share capital.  The breakdown of this holding is as follows:
