                    Change of Company Name and Ticker Symbol


Newsplayer Group plc ('Newsplayer' or the 'Company'), the leading enabler of
audio-visual content through the application of digital technology, announces
that its name has changed to Catalyst Media Group plc with effect from 24 May
2004. The ticker code under which the Company's ordinary shares trade on AIM
will change from NPG to CMX with immediate effect.

Paul Duffen, CEO, commented:

'Our business has evolved greatly since the launch of Newsplayer.com four years
ago and we are now firmly established as the leading enabler of audio-visual
content through the application of digital technology. I believe that the new
name better reflects this position and the diversity within the Group.'
