AGM STATEMENT

At the Annual General meeting of Castings plc today, Chairman Brian Cooke will
make the following comments to shareholders:

I have very little to add to my statement in May. Sales up to the end of July
are up by just under 2%, but it is expected margins will be reduced from last
year's levels.

Our order books and schedules continue to be satisfactory.
