                 CARR'S MILLING INDUSTRIES PLC (THE 'COMPANY')


The Company received notification yesterday that Barclays Bank PLC is now
interested in 333,651 shares of the Company, representing 4.05 per cent. of the
Company's issued share capital.

The shares are registered in the name of Barclays Global Investors Limited
(316,248 shares) and Barclays Life Assurance Co Limited (17,403 shares)
