            Carillion completes sale of former Mowlem business, MESG

Further to its announcement on 28 April 2006, Carillion, the UK support services
and construction company, has completed the sale of Mowlem Environmental
Sciences Group (MESG) to Inspicio plc for a cash consideration of £16 million.

MESG was the specialist environmental business of Mowlem plc, which was acquired
by Carillion plc on 23 February 2006. MESG was not a core business for Carillion
and did not fit its strategy for growth.
