Cairn was notified on 2 December 2004 by AEGON Asset Management UK plc that,
following the disposal by Chase Nominees Limited of 30,767 ordinary shares of 10
pence each in the capital of the Company, the AEGON UK plc Group of Companies no
longer has a notifiable interest in the relevant share capital of the Company.
