Renewal of authority to  purchase up to 13,221,458 Ordinary shares for
cancellation  - EGM held on 15 March 2001

At the above meeting , the resolution to renew the authority was unanimously
carried in favour of the share buy-back. For the record, the Company received
proxies for 54,746,964 votes in favour of the resolution and no proxies
against.
