NOTIFICATION OF INTEREST DISCLOSURE PURSUANT TO SECTION 198 COMPANIES

On 11th April 2001, the Company received notification that UBS Asset
Management Limited,Phillips & Drew Life Limited and UBS Asset Management
International Limited, all subsidiaries of UBS Asset Management (No. 2)
Limited, have an interest in 10,143,286 ordinary 10p shares of the Company. This
represents 12.02% of the issued share capital
of the Company.
Their previous holding was 12.53%.
