Purchase of Own Shares

In accordance with paragraph 15.9 of the Listing Rules we advise that Camellia
Plc purchased, for cancellation 6,750 ordinary shares of 10p each of Camellia
Plc.  Details are:-

      29th September 2000  6,750 ordinary shares at £27 per share

As a result of the above purchase for cancellation by Camellia Plc, the
percentage holding of Camellia Holding AG in Camellia Pl is now 50.84% 
(1,420,000 ordinary shares).

Camellia Plc is the ultimate Holding Company of the undernoted companies and
Camellia Holding AG is therefore deemed to be interested in a further 62,500
ordinary shares of Camellia Plc.  (2.23%).

      Assam-Dooars Holding Limited        1.52%
      Western Dooars Holdings Limited     0.71%
