Rights Issue - level of acceptances
The BT rights issue (the 'Rights Issue') closed at 9.30am on Friday, 15 June
2001. BT has received valid acceptances in respect of 1,768,695,260 shares,
representing approximately 89.5% of the total number of new BT shares being
offered.
As a result, and further to BT's announcement of 14 June 2001, Cazenove & Co.
Ltd and Merrill Lynch International will be seeking subscribers for
206,884,792 new BT shares by way of an international tender.
