BRITISH TELECOMMUNICATIONS PLC 24 August 1999 JUNE DE MOLLER TO JOIN BT BOARD BT today announced that June de Moller, former managing director of Carlton Communications plc, is to join the BT board on September 1 as a non-executive director. BT chairman, Sir Iain Vallance, said: 'I am delighted to welcome June de Moller to our board. She will bring with her invaluable experience of running a major company in the communications industry at a time of rapid change and growth both at home and internationally.' BIOGRAPHICAL DETAILS June de Moller stepped down from the Carlton Board in January this year after 15 years, during which time the company was transformed from a largely domestic business into an international media company. In 1993, she became the first woman to be appointed managing director of a FTSE 100 company having first joined the Carlton board in 1983. Her appointment as managing director followed a number of management positions within the company, including corporate strategy and business development, as well as mergers and acquisitions. June de Moller, 52, is a non-executive director of Anglian Water plc, Cookson Group plc and Lynx Group plc. She is married and lives in London and Suffolk.
