BT TO GIVE BIGGER CALL ALLOWANCES
AND DISCOUNTS
BT is to increase its inclusive call allowance for
residential customers by a third from next month. On
April 1 the inclusive call time given to residential customers*
will go up from £1.80 to £2.40 a quarter. Additionally,
customers on the BT Together package - there are now more
than four million - will each see their inclusive call time
increase from £5.40 to £6.00 per quarter.
A BT spokesman said: 'When we first introduced the
inclusive call time in October last year, it was an instant
success with customers, automatically giving them call time
equivalent to three hours of local weekend calls a quarter.
We are now increasing that by the equivalent of another full
hour.'
Other price changes to come in on April 1 are small
adjustments to BT's Light User Scheme - under which more
than 90 per cent of users will benefit - and an increase in
discount from 15 per cent to 16 per cent for BT's basic
business discount scheme, Business Advantage.
* Excludes customers on the Light User Scheme
