The Company wishes to announce that it became aware on 16 September 1999 that Mr
J Martin (Chief Executive) and Mr T J Kowalski (Finance Director) technically
became beneficially interested on 15 September 1999 in 99,781 ordinary shares of
10p each in the company, by virtue of the N Brown Group Qualifying Employee
Share Ownership Trust ('the QUEST') being allotted such shares at £3.65 each,
and the directors being potential beneficiaries under the QUEST.
