BPT plc (formerly The Bradford Property Trust PLC)

Name change to BPT plc and retirement of joint managing director

The Board of Directors confirms that, at the Annual General Meeting of the
Company held yesterday, shareholders voted in favour of a resolution to change
the name of the Company to BPT plc.  Confirmation having been received from
Companies House, the change of name is effective from 5 August 1999.

The Board also confirms as indicated in the Company's annual report that,
immediately following the Company's Annual General Meeting, BPT's retiring
Joint Managing Director, David Baker, has ceased to be a director of the
Company.
