S Daykin Leaves Group Finance Director Post

Swallowfield plc announces that Mr S D P Daykin, Group Finance Director,
whilst remaining on the Board as a non-executive Director in the short term,
will be leaving the executive employment of the Group on 11 November 1999 to
join Bristol United Press plc as Group Development Director.  In the meantime,
an interim Finance Manager has been appointed, who with the Group Financial
Controller (a new role in 1999), will cover the executive responsibilities of
the Group Finance Director.  The Group is finalising discussions with a full
time successor and hopes to be in a position to make an announcement in the
near future.

In addition, the Group also announces the appointment of a Finance Director at
Cosmetics Plus Ltd, another new role as part of the ongoing programme to
strengthen the management team at its Bideford location.
