FSA Authorisation Application

Braemar Group PLC 19 September 2006 PRESS RELEASE BG/19/09/06 APPLICATION FOR FSA AUTHORISATION Braemar Group plc has been successful in its application to the Financial Services Authority for the authorisation of its wholly owned subsidiary, Braemar Securities Limited, to carry out corporate finance business. The authorisation will become effective on 2 October 2006, and will initially be used to provide corporate finance services to the new product Coronation IV, which will be formally launched under the Braemar Securities umbrella on the 2 October 2006. Braemar Securities will initially act as arranger and promoter to the various residential property funds being launched by the Group, thereby retaining the fees for these activities in the Group, eliminating the need to engage with third parties. Braemar Securities will also seek opportunities to assist growing companies to raise finance and is already in early stage discussions with a number of companies for such potential mandates. Previously, Braemar Group had stated its intention to develop or acquire a corporate finance business for these reasons, and having struggled to find such an acquisition that represented shareholder value, Braemar lodged an application with the FSA. The authorisation of Braemar Securities by the FSA completely removes the need for such an acquisition. Braemar Securities will be led by Martin Robinson, the Chairman of Braemar and formerly Chief Executive of Henry Cooke Group plc and Lloyd Street Private Equity Ltd. Martin has many years of experience in corporate finance, raising money for companies from private individuals and venture capitalists, and on flotation.
