On 11 January 2006 Bloomsbury Publishing Plc ('the Company') received from
Citigroup, acting on behalf of Standard Life Investments, notification pursuant
to Part VI of the Companies Act 1985 (as amended) that on 5 January 2006
Standard Life Investments disposed of 373,828 ordinary shares in the Company on
behalf of Standard Life Group, and that this decreased the total shares held as
a material interest (registered in the name of Vidacos Nominees) to
1,920,611shares, being below 3% of the issued share capital.
