The Trust has been notified by Foreign & Colonial
Emerging Markets Ltd. ('FCEM') that the 1.875 million
ordinary shares allotted to FCEM on 7 September 2000 on
the exercise of management options, have been sold,
subject to listing and admission to trading which are
expected to become effective on 11 September 2000.  These
shares represented approximately 2.6% of the existing
issued ordinary share capital.
