                  Commencement of Drilling at Mkurumu Project

Tanzania Gold plc (TZG.L), the AIM listed exploration and development company
with projects in highly prospective  Tanzania, is pleased to announce continuing
progress since its admission to AIM in September 2006.

Stanley Mining Services has now commenced drilling with a CS1000 diamond drill
rig at the Mkurumu Project. The  programme, which is expected to continue until
the year end, will include at least ten holes of between 1000m to 1100m  on five
drill profiles to test for mineralisation, stratigraphy and structure.

Clive Sinclair-Poulton, Chief Executive of Tanzania Gold, said: 'We are

being able to release results on this project'
