New Accounting Ref Date

The Board of Beazley Group plc announces that, in line with the intention stated
in the Company's Prospectus dated 7 November 2002, the accounting reference date
has been changed from 30 June (the date of the Company's last statutory
accounts) to 31 December.

Accordingly, the Company's first results will be for the six months ended 31
December 2002, and will be published in April 2003.
