Ken Sroka, formerly head of product development at Zurich Financial Services, has been appointed to the board of Beazley plc with effect from 12 November 2010.

 

Mr Sroka, 57, brings extensive experience of the US property/casualty insurance market.  During the 1990s he created and directed Zurich's financial lines business in North America.  More recently he focused on the development of specialist products in North America as president and CEO of Zurich North American Specialties Division. 

 

Prior to joining Zurich in 1993, Mr Sroka's career included roles at Chubb, AIG and USF&G.  He retired from Zurich in 2008.

 

Beazley chairman Jonathan Agnew said:  "The US is our most important market and one in which we see great growth potential.  Ken's wide experience of developing specialist insurance products to meet the needs of clients and brokers will be very valuable to us as we continue to build our US business and I am delighted to welcome him to the Board of Beazley plc." 

 

Beazley plc has been notified that there are no details to be disclosed pursuant to Rule 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules in respect of Mr Sroka.
