REPURCHASE OF SHARES

The Board of Baronsmead VCT 2 plc announces that on 14 February 2001 the
Company purchased for cancellation 11,538 ordinary shares of 10p at a price of
110.00p.

Following this purchase there are now 40,113,114 ordinary shares of 10p in
issue.
