Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria SA 26 April 2001 BANCO DE CREDITO LOCAL AND BBVA E-COMMERCE CONSTITUTE GOBERNALIA GLOBAL NET * The new company has a stock capital of 1.8 million euros and has the intention to launch a vertical site addressed to the Territory Administrations. * The new site MUNICIPIA involves the first development of E-Government in Spain. Banco de Credito Local and BBVA E-Commerce have constituted the company Gobernalia Global Net which will develop a vertical site called MUNICIPIA, addressed to the Territory Administrations in Spain and Latin America. Gobernalia Global Net, S.A. is set up with a stock capital of 1.8 million euros (299.4 million pesetas), subscribed by Banco de Credito Local (BCL) and BBVA E-Commerce. This company has reserved up to 20% of the capital to the Institutions and Entities that represent the Sector, such as Professional Technical Bodies of the Administration and Federations of Municipalities. The vertical site MUNICIPA will provide contents related with the sector to the Territory Administrations and will allow operations that will enable the economic relations among the administrations, citizens and suppliers. The launching of this site belongs to the strategy of BBVA to reinforce the leadership of BCL as a financial leader company in the local sector and it is in accordance of the initiatives promoted by the public administrations at the territory, national and European levels.
