Grant of Options under the Balfour Beatty Savings Related Share Option Scheme
2001



After the close of business on 8 May 2002, the following Directors of Balfour
Beatty plc ('the Company') were granted options over the Company's 50p Ordinary
Shares under the Balfour Beatty Savings Related Share Option Scheme 2001:

Mr I P Tyler: 640

Mr J L Cohen: 743

Mr P J L Zinkin: 1,151



All options were granted at an Exercise Price of 184.0p.



Mr Welton, Mr Tyler and Mr Cohen have entered into 3 Year Savings Contracts; as
a result, their options are exercisable between 1 July 2005 and 31 December
2005.



Mr Zinkin entered into a 5 Year Savings Contract; as a result, his options are
exercisable between 1 July 2007 and 31 December 2007.
