                           Purchase of Own Securities

On 18 September 2002, the Company purchased for cancellation 200,000 ordinary
shares at a price of 99.03p, bringing the total number of ordinary shares bought
back to 715,000.

There remain 62,935,000 ordinary shares in issue.
