APPOINTMENT OF A DIRECTOR

The Board of Foreign & Colonial Eurotrust PLC announces the appointment of
William Duncan Eason as a non-executive Director with effect from 16 May 2007.

Mr Eason has been involved in the fund management and private client investment
management business for over 30 years, mainly at Laing & Cruickshank.  He was
closely involved with investment trusts throughout that time and was chairman of
Henderson High Income Trust plc.  He is chairman of the investment committee of
Cheviot Asset Management.

As required under paragraph 9.6.13, Mr Eason has disclosed that he was a
director of Henderson High Income Trust plc from 1989 until May 2006.

No other information is required to be disclosed under Listing Rule 9.6.13.
