British Empire Securities and General Trust plc announces that the rate of
interest (gross of income tax) on its Equities Index Unsecured Loan Stock 2013
for the quarter ended 31 December 2007 was 1.8600 pence per unit, equivalent to
£18.60 per 1,000 units of stock.  The record date for the payment was 31
December 2007 and payment of the interest was made on 10 January 2008.
