Investment in Welsh classical music agency

Boomerang Plus plc (AIM: BOOM), a profitable media investment group, is pleased to announce a joint investment into Harlequin Agency ("Harlequin"), Wales's foremost classical music agency, alongside its highest profile artist, Bryn Terfel.

Harlequin will complement Boomerang's existing agency, Boom Talent, widening the scope of the new venture to include actors and presenters alongside classical singers, accompanists, conductors and West-End stars. The new Joint Venture will be 50% owned by Boomerang and 50% by Bryn Terfel.

Harlequin Agency was established in Cardiff in 1986 by its Managing Director, Doreen O'Neill, whose main aim was to nurture young talent in Wales. It currently represents more than twenty-five artists including the world's finest bass baritone, Bryn Terfel, international tenor, Gwyn Hughes Jones, singer, presenter and actress, Shân Cothi, The Three Welsh Tenors, mezzo-soprano, Leah-Marian Jones, and West-End Star, John Owen-Jones.

The investment will enable Harlequin to continue to build on its many achievements with growth supported by Boomerang's interests in television, radio, events and advertiser funded content.

Bryn Terfel referred to Harlequin's role in managing his career since he was a student at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London: "I started my career at virtually the same time as Doreen O'Neill started her agency and I feel that we have climbed the ladder together. I now have the opportunity to become involved in helping Harlequin grow, especially with the development of young up and coming talent."

Huw Eurig Davies, Chief Executive Officer of Boomerang Plus, said: "We recognised that there were synergies between Harlequin and Boom Talent. All of us share a passion and belief which, together with our investment, will enable Harlequin to achieve growth in the future."
