Amlin PLC 13 November 2002 For immediate release AMLIN plc SHARE CAPITAL UPDATE On 11 October 2002 Lloyd's approved the application by Amlin plc ('Amlin') and its wholly-owned subsidiary, Amlin Underwriting Limited, to proceed with the compulsory acquisition of all of the outstanding capacity on Syndicate 2001 which Amlin and its subsidiaries does not hold and has not acquired pursuant to the capacity offer made on 2 August 2002. Pursuant to this Amlin has today allotted a further 199,689 ordinary shares of 25p each. The shares will rank pari passu in all respects with the existing issued ordinary share capital of the Company. Together with those already announced a total of 15,508,545 shares have been issued in respect of the acquisition of the outstanding capacity. No further shares will be issued in this respect. The UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange admitted up to 56,708,346 shares to the Official List and to trading on the London Stock Exchange pursuant to the capacity offer. A request for this listing to be cancelled in respect of the unutilised balance of 41,199,801 shares will be made shortly.
