                              AMLIN PLC ('Amlin')


                      NOTIFICATION OF INTERESTS IN SHARES

Amlin was notified by Rostrum Group Limited ('Rostrum') on 11 June 2002 that it
has been advised that Northwestern Mutual ('Northwestern') and Enco Nominees
Limited ('Enco') each no longer hold a notifiable interest in Amlin's ordinary
shares pursuant to Part VI of the Companies Act 1985.  Northwestern and Enco
both previously held such notifiable interests by virtue of their relationships
with Rostrum.  Rostrum is presently interested in 17,288,186 Amlin ordinary
shares, representing 6.45% of the Amlin's ordinary shares currently in issue.
Rostrum's previously notified interest had been in 18,238,186 Amlin shares
(6.80%).
