Associated British Engineering Plc (ABE) -  

Trading statement - 12^th September 2011

The Board of ABE has reviewed the current trading at its principal subsidiary company British Polar Engines Limited (BPE).

In common with many other companies BPE is experiencing a slower order flow in the current difficult economic climate. The Board of ABE would advise that current trading is around 10% lower in volume terms compared with last year and it is anticipated that pre-tax profits, while positive, will be significantly lower at the half year stage than those for the corresponding period in 2010.
