                   Anglo American Preliminary Annual Results



On Tuesday 22 February 2005 the Board of Anglo American plc (the 'Company') will
meet to consider the preliminary annual results of the Company for the year
ended 31 December 2004 and the recommendation of a final dividend. An
announcement will be issued at the opening of business on Wednesday 23 February
2005.
