                       CLOSE BROTHERS DEVELOPMENT VCT PLC


Close Brothers Development VCT PLC announces that on 12 December 2006 it
purchased, to be held in treasury, 30,718 Ordinary Shares (representing 0.3% of
the Ordinary Share capital) at a price of 85p per Ordinary Share and 17,500 C
Shares (representing 0.1% of the C Share capital) at a price of 93p per C Share.


Following the purchase of the 30,718 Ordinary Shares and the 17,500 C Shares,
the total number of treasury shares held by the Company will be 275,118 Ordinary
Shares and 156,715 C Shares. The issued share capital of the Company, less the
total number of shares held in treasury, will be 12,770,549 Ordinary Shares and
17,963,792 C Shares.
