The Board of Deutsche Latin American Trust PLC announces that Mr Kevin John
Toussaint Pakenham, who is Managing Director in London of Putnam Lovell
Securities Inc. and a director of Firecrest Capital Limited, has today been
appointed as a non-executive director of the Company. During his 30 year City
career, Mr Pakenham has held a number of senior positions on a wide variety of
investment boards in the asset management industry. He was Managing Director of
Foreign & Colonial Management from 1983 to 1988 and CEO of Govett Investments
from 1988 to 2000. He was also formerly Chief Executive of Govett Secretaries
Limited, Govett Investment Management Limited, AIB Govett Investment Managers
(UK) Limited and AIB Asset Management Holdings Limited and a director of Govett
High Income Investment Trust PLC, Govett Emerging Markets Investment Trust PLC
and the Hungarian Investment Company Limited. We are aware of no further
disclosable details under paragraph 6.F.2(b) to (g) of The Listing Rules.
