The Board of Deutsche Equity Income Trust PLC announces that Mr Jeremy Leigh
Pemberton will be retiring as a Director and Chairman of the Company at the
conclusion of the Company's Annual General Meeting to be held on Wednesday, 17
December 2003 as he will have attained the age of seventy. He will be succeeded
as Chairman by Mr Tony Mitchard.
