Notification of Interests of Executive Directors and Other Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibility ('PDMRs')

The notification set out below is provided in accordance with the requirements of the EU Market Abuse Regulation.

On 11 April 2018, following approval by the Trustees of the Aberdeen Asset Management PLC Deferred Share Plan, of the proposed grant of 5 March 2018, the following individuals received awards under the following plan:

The Aberdeen Asset Management PLC Deferred Share Plan 2009 - Awards in the form of nil-cost options ('2017 Deferred Share Awards') over existing ordinary shares in the Company.  The level of shares granted to each individual was equivalent to a proportion of his or her final bonus for the period 14 August 2017 to 31 December 2017.

These Awards are divided into five equal tranches and become free of restriction from March 2019, March 2020, March 2021, March 2022 and March 2023 conditional on continued employment with the Standard Life Aberdeen Group (as determined by the Rules) until the relevant vesting dates.  The awards will be exercisable, once vested, up to 10 years from grant.

No consideration is payable on the grant or vesting of all of the above Awards.  All of the above awards carry a right to receive dividend equivalents on exercise.
