Notification of Interest of Persons Discharging Managerial Responsibilities ('PDMR')

The notification set out below is provided in accordance with the requirements of the EU Market Abuse Regulation.

Following the recommended all-share merger of Standard Life plc and Aberdeen Asset Management PLC, holders of ordinary shares of 10 pence each in the capital of Aberdeen ("Aberdeen Shares") received 0.757 of an ordinary share of 12 2/9 pence each in the capital of Standard Life Aberdeen plc in exchange for each Aberdeen Share ("the Exchange Ratio").

The Company has been advised by external nominees that as a result, on 14 August 2017, the interests in the Company of each Director and PDMR, as well as those persons closely associated, were as set out below.

*The number of unconditional deferred shares and conditional deferred shares are those Aberdeen Shares subject to options/awards under the Aberdeen Asset Management PLC Deferred Share Plan 2009 which have been converted into shares of Standard Life Aberdeen plc at the Exchange Ratio.   These grants were previously announced by Aberdeen Asset Management PLC at the time the awards were made in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 respectively and are set out in full in the subsequent Annual Report and Accounts for 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016 and the Aberdeen Scheme Document dated 9 May 2017, aside from in respect of Kerry Christie who was classified as a PDMR of the Company as at 14 August 2017.
